FAT GIRLS CANT HAVE SHORT HAIR?

Hmm...
So i have been told before, with varying degrees of tact!

"You know you have a round face...","a small head...", "a square head...", "your cheeks will be more pronounced..." etc.

Do you also think fat girls cant have short hair? (what should fat guys do? lol)

Well i'll tell you one thing. No one can dictate to you what your style should be.
In my opinion, my style represents where i am at that point in my life/journey. If i feel like expressing myself with a short hairstyle, then short it is. If it hurts your eyes, then avert them...do not look, please don't hurt yourself!
Having said that, there are styles that flatter you more than others... that much is true.
Most of the time, you find what works for you by experimenting. If you don't try, how would you know?
I carry out a lot of such experiments on my hair...
Someone sent me a picture we took and it took me down memory lane...not so far down, just a year ago, or there about.

This lovely evening, standing in front of my mirror, combing my hair this way and that... i started toying with the idea of hacking the whole thing off! And you know, once the thought takes hold... without much ado, i got my shears and hacked into my hair.
I did not even let anyone know...
At the time, i had a lot of undergrowth, so i started the hacking till i got to the point where the undergrowth met relaxed hair.

Before the Cut

Imagine sitting with me, me excusing myself and appearing after a while with a proper low cut!!!
My family was flabbergasted! Hubby went with it, thought it was cool (before! ;)) My kids! "mummy!! where did all your hair go?"

Semi - freshly hacked, finger curled...still had the natural color.

The shock in the house was palpable because my  hair was quite long. My mum though was not as shocked! (being that she had and still sees me through all crazy experiments and phases...poor woman! lol).

Ginger Blonde

Trust me not to be stuck on one style... went in again to my bathroom another day, and colored the whole hair ginger blonde! Let me just mention here that i do not have any aversion to salons (as i still had to go in for a more precise cut)... its just more exciting to do somethings myself.

I love love loved my short do! Especially when the ginger blonde color started growing out to the tips and the black roots where showing, along with my grey goldish patch of hair upfront...
It tickled me pink when out and about, people stopped me to compliment the style! Did i mention i had it finger curled at some point? Then when it grew a bit, curled with some really tiny rollers and curl holding products... Just writing this is making me feel like revisiting ;)

The lesson i learnt from that episode was,
My hair did not wear me - I ROCKED THE HELL OUT OF IT!!!
Sure it was a hit.  People complimented me, and liked it, but that was only icing on the cake. I loved it, enough said.

I am not one for pictures, the moment must have passed before i remember to take pictures...so i am thankful that the picture was saved and sent to me, i was also able to find low quality pictures taken from an old phone at the time (another lesson there).

Is there something you've always wanted to try? Shore up courage, give it a try just once at least (at your own risk, lol!) then you can strike it off your list if you don't like it, however you might just be surprised!!
